Who am I?
- 20-something self confessed geek with a wide range of skills and hobbies from robotics, artificial intelligence, film production, photography, cycling, sailing, and movie-watching to name but a few.
- Born in Newtownards, brought up around the Triangle area of the north coast, went to Dalriada School, Worked as a barman, sailing instructor, lifeguard, and Electrical Goods Salesman, Lived and studied in Belfast for a few years, dragging my sales job with me, met an American who became my girlfriend, I moved to Athlone in the Republic of Ireland to work for Ericsson for a sandwich year for my MEng in Electronics and Software Engineering.
- Firm believer in not working just for money. I quite often find myself working on my current personal projects (such as this blog) during work time, but equally i find myself working from home during home time.
- Location independence is my ultimate dream; as such i have an avid technical interest in mobile network communications, secure communications systems, and convergent devices and mobile development frameworks, and one of my current (background) personal projects is the Android framework from the OpenHandset Alliance, but since I cant justify the expense of a new handset, I deal with the emulator.
What am I?:
- I’m a Linux (thats not me btw)
- I’m an atheist with pastafarian tendencies and i worship the teapot, but i come from a Protestant (Methodist) background (I come from Northern Ireland so most everyone asks)
